Tom's Boatyard

During the winter Polruan pool is empty.
The yachts are brought into the protection of the boatyard and laid up until the weather improves.

The boatyard is still in constant use. Ships of all sizes can be seen, from The Lookout, in the dry dock throughout the year.
The occasional square rigger still visits, just as when Daphne Du Maurier was inspired to write her first novel, "The Loving Spirit", based on Jane Slade who had run the boatyard some 50 years earlier.
